Recently, the team at Samsung was tasked with monitoring the performance of network equipment during peak hours at a popular theater. Using an Access Point Controller (APC) and WEM, technicians were able to check the Channel Plan to make sure there was no co-channel interference or adjacent channel interference. The Transmit Power display revealed power assignments, and the visual format offered by the WEM helped technicians conclude that the 2.4 Ghz spectrum was completely saturated and too many 2.4Ghz radios were enabled for this environment. Additionally, it demonstrated the traffic patterns on the APs. For example, before the start of the show, the rear APs were very active, triggered by the influx of devices used in the lobby. All of the WEM tools combined to give a comprehensive picture of the system’s performance.
